This pub night idea sure sounds awesome. It sounds like a fun environment.
Did you guys just rent out a hall or something? How did all that go down? I'd like to see that happen at my school, it sounds like a good time.

I'm not saying I wouldn't do it as part of a team that's broke and needs cash to do competitions...
But some India teams consider it to be a disgrace to their ustadji and tradition of bhangra to perform at weddings and get paid for it.

Not really. We didn't charge anyone to get in. We had it on a Thursday night, which wasn't very popular for that specific pub/diner and brought a lot of people. We bartended/checked IDs, so it was a relaxed atmosphere. People really bought a lot of drinks and most tipped like they normally did. However, some people tipped well because they knew we got it in the end. Its almost like they're directly giving us the money directly through tips, but they're also able to buy drinks (which sometimes they may not be able to).

I don't see a big problem in fundraising...a lot of organizations do that so they can function/exist...I mean if people know that it's a fundraiser for the team and they're willing to support it on their own accord then why not?

Fundraising/Donations are normal ways to get money.

Anybody done anything like the Qdoba plan? And whoever did the Qdoba thing, how does that worK? Any other places do similiar fundraising options?

ive never heard of the qdoba plan, but i know fuddruckers does something, and im sure a lot of restaurants do as well and that it might be what the qdoba plan is, where you host a bunch of people there and you get like 15% of whatever people paid

also, look into making a sponsorship packet to send out to local businesses, uncles/aunties, whoever. here is ours for orange bhangra.
