Turla
From Bhangra Teams' Forum - Bhangra Wiki
The turla is the fan-like adornment that rises out of a paghari (turban).
Also called "Farla"
"One Piece" Turla
One-piece turlas are actually part of the paghari itself; the entire pagh is one long stretch of fabric. The Turla end is starched (see options for starch below) and tucked into the paghari as it is tied. This is the authentic/"traditional" form of the bhangra pagh. One-piece turlas may appear as 'front turla' or 'side turla' variants (this denotes where the turla is on the pagh)
"Two Piece" Turla
Two-piece turlas actually mean there are two parts to the paghari: a stretch of unstarched fabric for the paghari; and a second, starched piece of material that forms the turla. Because they are a separate material, they often are thicker or have backing in order to give more strength to the standing turla. The separate turla piece is normally positioned in the front of the paghari (rather than a 'side turla' option in a one-piece paghari).
